CASOP: computational approach for strain optimization aiming at high productivity

General concept

CASOP is a heuristic approach for increasing the specific productivity of strains. The relative contribution of a reaction to product yield and network capacity is estimated by analyzing the spectrum of elementary flux modes. A reaction ranking is delivered suggesting gene knockout and overexpression candidates.
