General concept

Any number of objective functions can be hypothesized, but are they consistent with experimental data? This method provided a quantitative score on how consistent an objective function is with experimental flux data. This method computes Coefficients of Importance (CoIs), which quantify how consistent the maximization of the objective flux is with the experimental data.
